Cyclone Harold hits Vanuatu
A Category 5 Cyclone Harold caused major damage on the island of Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu last week. Our main fellowship is in Mango Station in Luganville and there are two other village fellowships on the SW part of the island.
More than 80% of the houses and roads and services have been severely damaged. I have spoken with Pastor Willy Rouvoune and some photos of the hall in Mango Station and the adjacent ancillary buildings and house on our property are in the attached report.
The first photo shows the hall still standing but it is severely damaged and all the structure has moved and is unstable. The hall will have to be demolished and rebuilt. COVID19 is not yet in Vanuatu. Foreign Aid will be delivered to ports only and foreign workers will not come in to assist. Clean up, restoration of services and rebuilding will be by locals only.
We are appealing for donations to assist members who have lost their houses and to start a staged cyclone resistant rebuild of the hall.
Send Donations to CRF General Account 082 967 67579 0813 marked Cyclone Harold.
Please pray that COVID19 will not enter Vanuatu.
